The 2-8 Giants officially begin life after Daniel Jones in Sunday’s home game against the Buccaneers, who are 4-6 and have lost four straight.
Here’s a look at the Giants’ injury report for that game:
Questionable: WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton (Achilles tendon), ILB Micah McFadden (heel), ILB Darius Muasau (hamstring), WR Malik Nabers (groin), OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (wrist)

Nabers is obviously the most notable guy on that list. Will he play in Tommy DeVito’s 2024 debut on Sunday? Nabers — the Giants’ star rookie wide receiver — popped up on the injury report Friday for the first time this week. He did not practice Friday.
Same situation for McFadden, who popped up on Friday’s injury report and didn’t practice. But Nabers is a more important starter than McFadden, especially as the Giants turn to DeVito — and not Drew Lock — to replace Jones, who they cut Friday (after he requested to be released).
Besides Nabers and McFadden, the only other notable player on the injury report is Thibodeaux, who is returning from wrist surgery. It looks like he will play Sunday. He was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice and then fully participated the next two days.
Thibodeaux has missed five straight games (all losses) since getting hurt Oct. 6 in the shocking upset win in Seattle. So he has played just five games in this critically important third season for him. Thibodeaux landed on injured reserve as a result of his wrist surgery. But he appears ready to be fully activated off IR for Sunday’s game.
As for Nabers, his production has tailed off since he missed two games with a concussion. In the season’s first four games, he had 66, 127, 78, and 115 yards, with three touchdowns. Then he missed those two games. In four games since returning, he has 41, 71, 59, and 50 yards, with no touchdowns. Still, DeVito badly needs Nabers on the field Sunday.
